Dominick Vincent D’Auria died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 14, 2021, one day shy of his 89th birthday.

Born to Vincent and Mary D’Auria (nèe Berardi), he is survived by his sister Ann Camera, his brother Joseph D’Auria and predeceased by his brother Nicholas D’Auria. Dominick rejoins his beloved spouse, Jeanne D’Auria (nèe Ihburg) who he married in 1956 and lost in 1984. He is survived by his three sons and their wives, Gary and Margaret (Peggy), Dean and Donna, Gregory and Helene; and six grandchildren, Dean, David, Brandon, Dominick, Cara Jeanne and James, along with many nieces and nephews.

Dominick proudly served his country during the Korean War and continued to serve his community as a life long member of the John Paulding Engine
Company in Sparkill. He was also a member the American Legion John M. Perry Post #1044. A local businessman for many years, he was the owner of the George Garrecht Plumbing & Heating Company, was a respected
employee of the Orangetown Sewer Dept. and in his later years, enjoyed his work as a starter at the Blue Hill Golf Course.

Dominick enjoyed life, golf, food and wine, but most of all his family and friends, most especially when shared with his partner in crime, Nicola Frustaci. He will be missed, but not forgotten.

A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, Oct. 18th, 10:30am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan. Burial with military honors to follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill. Visiting hours will be Sunday, Oct. 17th, 2-8pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St.Jude’s Children’s Hospital ( or United Hospice of Rockland (
