Malpeli, Enio Joseph

Blauvelt, NY - Tappan Location

Enio Joseph Malpeli passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 20, 2021 at the age of 92. Enio was a beloved husband to his wife, Gerry (predeceased) for 65 years. He is survived by his children Cynthia OHare (Brian) and Kenneth (Lisa). His family was his love and every moment he spent with his seven granddaughters, Christine O’Hare Barringer (Eddy), Jamie O’Hare, Kelly O’Hare, Nicole Malpeli, Jacquelyn Malpeli, Amanda Malpeli and Sophia Malpeli was cherished. He was a loving brother to Anne Menna (predeceased) and brother-in-law to George (predeceased) and Joseph Mahoney.

Enio was a retired FDNY Battalion Chief and Korean War Veteran. His life was dedicated to others both professionally and personally. His mere presence radiated energy of positivity, love, compassion, confidence, and friendship that touched the hearts of all those who met him. His kindness and empathy towards others was obvious and always genuine. If you asked him, “How are you?” his standard response was, “You know me I’m hanging in there”. Which was immediately followed by a sincere, “And how are you doing today?” Most of these encounters ended with a fist pump which instantly put a smile on your face, pep in your step, and a feeling of friendship.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation, Tuesday, June 22, 3-8pm at the Moritz Funeral Home, 98 Route 303, in Tappan. His Funeral Mass will be held at Wednesday, June 23, 11am at St. Catharine’s Church, 523 Western Hwy., in Blauvelt. Interment will be at F. W. Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 220 Brick Church Rd. in New Hempstead.
