Francis Xavier McGreevy passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on May 2, 2021, after battling a long illness. Just like he dealt with all his experiences in life, Frank handled his illness with courage and stayed strong until the end. He was 75 years old. Born on February 3, 1946, Jersey City, New Jersey. Son of the late Cornelius and Harriet McGreevy. He graduated from St. Peter’s High School and then attended St. Peter’s College.

Frank worked in the Grocery industry for 30 years and then as a Realtor (and property manager) before he retired. He was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Catherine’s Parish for over 50 years. Faith, family, and charity were paramount in his life. Frank was a past president of the Catholic Institute of the Food Industry, uniting those aspects of faith, charity, and work. When his children were young, he enjoyed coaching SOLL and St. Catherine’s CYO and Volunteering as a Boy Scout Leader. Frank had a passion for cooking, especially for holidays and family celebrations. He an avid sports fan, cheering for his favorite NY Giants and Rangers, and following the NY Yankees until his last days.

Frank was a devoted husband and a loving son, brother, father, and uncle. He was preceded in death by his daughter Allison, his in-laws, John and Alice Reynolds, sisters Carol Carpenter, Monica McGreevy, and MaryAnn Simms. Brother-in-laws Richard Reynolds, Thomas Reynolds, and Jackie Reynolds. Survived by his wife of 53 years and best friend, Alice, son Frank, daughter Bridget and son-in-law Robert Incognoli. Brothers Michael (Bellaflor), Cornelius (Hylean), and sister, Elizabeth (George). Brother-in-laws James Reynolds (Tricia), Michael Reynolds (Celia), Joseph Reynolds (JoAnn), and sisters-in-laws Catherine Reynolds (Thomas Sullivan), Mary Reynolds and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Mass celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021, 10am at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, Blauvelt. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021, 4-8pm at Moritz Funeral Home, 98 Route 303, Tappan NY. In lieu of flowers donations to Tunnel to Towers Foundation ( or Operation Smile ( would be greatly appreciated.
