Maureen O’Connor (nèe Frawley), 93, of Venice, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 19th, 2021. She was born in New York City to James and Mary Frawley on June 10th, 1928. She graduated from Cathedral High School and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Dominican College, as well as a master’s degree from Manhattan College.

Maureen is survived by her children, Paul, Maria, Jean and Anne. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents and her devoted husband Thomas, as well as her brothers, Brendan, James, Martin and Thomas.

Maureen earned a reputation as an exceptional teacher in the South Orangetown school district for almost 20 years and was beloved by her fellow teachers and students. She retired to Florida in 1987 with her husband Thomas.
Foremost among all her qualities, however, Maureen was a devout Catholic. She served as both a Eucharistic Minister and lector at Epiphany Cathedral as well as Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Venice.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 24th, from 5:00-9:00 pm at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. There will be a Requiem Mass at St. Ann’s Church in Nyack at 11:00 am on Friday, June 25th.
