Foley, Patrick Michael

Patrick Michael Foley passed away suddenly on May 8, 2021. He was born in Manhattan on April 15, 1936 to the late James and Winifred Foley. He was the beloved husband of Lorraine, brother to James (Patricia) and Sheila. He was the cherished father of Thomas, Linda and Margaret. He was stepfather to the late Gerard (Marie), Stephen (Carol) and John (Karen). Patrick was also the proud grandfather of Timothy (Shannon), Jake, Kyle, Grace, Jill, Lindsay, Keith, Craig (Bree), Danny, Andrew, Ashley, Maegan, Jamie, and Paige. He was overjoyed with the recent birth of his twin great-grandchildren, Madison and Dean Foley. He is also survived by his nephew Robert.

Patrick served his country honorably in the USMC. For 36 years, he was a proud member of the NYC Fire Department. He retired in 1998 as a decorated fireman and Battalion Chief.

Patrick’s devotion to his wife Lorraine was obvious to all who saw them together. He was a constant source of love, strength and support to his children and grandchildren and always available for advice. He had a one of a kind sense of humor and was respected and loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 11th, 10am at St. Catharine’s Church in Blauvelt. Burial with military honors to follow at Rockland Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 10th, 4-8pm a the Moritz Funeral Home, 98 Route 303, Tappan, NY. In lieu of flowers, donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (https://www.stjude.org) or the United Service Organization (https://secure.uso.org/) would greatly appreciated.
