Raymond Ostrom of Nanuet, passed away, on Sunday, October 18, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.

Ray was born on August 26, 1952, in Nyack, NY to Helen and Henry Ostrom. Raised in Orangeburg, he had a wonderful childhood, growing up with his four siblings and living in close proximity to his Aunts, Uncles, cousins and grandparents.
Ray began his career at Rockland Children’s Psychiatric Center in 1972, where he met his loving wife of 39 years. They soon moved to Nanuet, NY, where they raised their two sons. He retired in 2008, as the Director of Plant Operations at Rockland Psychiatric Center.

Ray had a huge heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his fellow neighbor, family member, friend or stranger. He loved spending time with his wife and children and was a devoted father and husband, always putting the needs and wants of his family before his own. He enjoyed fishing, spending time in the Adirondacks, kayaking and watching the New York Mets. He loved animals, especially cats. He was very skilled and a “jack of all trades, master of none though oftentimes better than a master of one.”

He was a member of the West Nyack I Senior Club and enjoyed going on various trips attending shows in NYC and Pennsylvania.
Ray will be remembered for his generosity, kindness and strength. He had a heart of gold and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Tana and two sons, Christopher and Kevin; his 99 year old father, Henry; his siblings Denny, Walter and wife Erna, Stephen and his wife Laura, Patty and her husband Mike. Survivors also include his sister-in-laws, Marie (Rod) and Janice (Kenny), Uncle Walter, Aunt Sandy, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Moritz Funeral Home, 98 Route 303 South, Tappan, NY 10983 on Wednesday, October 21st from 3-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 22nd, at 10am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 120 Kings Highway, Tappan, NY 10983.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to United Hospice of Rockland.
