Salvatore Massa entered into eternal life on April 7, 2021.  Sal was born in January of 1942 to Concetta and Fred Massa.  He was raised in the Highbridge section of the Bronx and graduated from Taft High School.      

Sal started his career working for the US Postal Service.  Then in 1968 joined the NYC Sanitation.  He spent 22 years as a garbage man and foreman.
On September 2, 1967, he married his best friend, Eleanor Sullivan.  They started out just being friends as teens in the Bronx.  They then moved to Rockland in 1971 and raised three children there.

Salvatore is predeceased by his wife, whom he lost in May of 2020.  He is survived by his three children; Peter, Cathy Henry (Marty), and Brian (Cherith). He was the ultimate poppy to Mary Kate, Kristen and Matthew Henry.  They always put a smile on his face.  He will be dearly missed by his sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Joe Cioffi and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maureen and Tim Hegarty.  He will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  

Sal was a member of the Tappan Seniors and Pearl River Gun Club where he made many lifelong friends. A very special thank you from Sal's family to his friends that showed daily support during his struggle with loss and recent illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (  

 A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, April 14th, 11am at St. Catharine's Church, 523 Western Highway, Blauvelt, NY.  Visitation on Tuesday, April 13th, 3-7pm at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan.
