IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alexina M.
Lapham
October 8, 1938 – January 15, 2025
Alexina M. Lapham (born October 8, 1938) passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Alexina emigrated to the United States in 1963, arriving in New York City on the ocean liner USS United States. She worked in the financial industry and lived in the Pierce House, an all-girls starting communal house in NYC; there, as part of the adjoining Rainsford House for men, she met William Wiltsie Lapham. After moving to Tudor City, Alexina married William on May 14, 1966, after which they moved to Closter, New Jersey away from the bustle of the city. Alexina gave birth to her only daughter, Lesley, and remained in Closter for the rest of her life. Alexina was an avid tennis player and watcher, acting as a teacher for several local tennis clubs. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and attending Broadway shows and the Metropolitan Opera. She is survived by her daughter, Lesley Wiese, and her grandson, Ian William Wiese.
