IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Aleyamma
Mathew
August 8, 1934 – September 10, 2023
Aleyamma Mathew, 89, also known as "Mummy", was called to eternal home on September 10th, 2023.
She was married to late Mr. P M Mathew (papa) and became a part of Koleth Korattikara Parayil family, where she lived a beautiful married life in Jabalpur, India. Besides being a homemaker, her home was also a haven for many theological and nursing students who came to Jabalpur from Kerala. After papa was called to eternity, mummy became the rock of the family, and raised her three kids in Christian faith.
She fulfilled her dream of building a home in Kerala. Later she moved to New York to be with her daughter, Hepsy. She had the privilege to be an 'Ammachi' to her grandchildren and a 'Velluchi' to her great grandchildren.
She spent most of her time praying for people who are both known and unknown to her. Her spiritual life is what made her so different and unique from most of us. During her younger years, she also had the opportunity to sing and be a part of the Maramon Convention Choir. Her famous 'Mummy's Christmas Cake' and 'Grandmas fish pickle' always stirred everyone's taste buds. She was actively involved in Sevika Sangam and very competitive during bible quizzes.
Being hospitable and compassionate within the family and the society, she was known for her charismatic smile. She celebrated life by embracing and transforming the cause of the extended family at large, individually and collectively. She will be dearly missed and her fond memories will remain in our hearts forever.
In commemoration of Mummy, we request all to donate money to the Good Samaritan Fund set up in Bethany Mar Thoma Church(BMTC) in fond remembrance of her instead of flowers. Please use the gofund link posted below and include "In fond memory of our Mummy" as the memo. We hope and wish to continue her legacy so even her death is celebrated and made useful for many.
