Angeline 'Angie' Politis, 98, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2024. She was born on November 11, 1925 in Scranton, PA to Louis and Mary Bardaxe. Angie was raised in the Bronx and in 1963 moved to Orangeburg, NY where she lived most of her life before recently residing at Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake, NJ.

She was the beloved mother of Alex, Constance Smyth (Richard), Michael and Susan; proud grandmother of Travis Smyth (Kacie), Samantha Emerson (David), Lukas and Matthew Politis; and great-grandmother of Rennie Emerson. Angie was predeceased by her brother Peter Bardaxe and sister Beatrice Karson.

Angie was employed by the City of New York as a teacher where her knowledge and compassion influenced her students in positive way.

Throughout her life, Angie was an active member of the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in West Nyack, NY.  Angie loved to cook and bake for her family and friends, always sharing her culinary skills. Worldwide travel was something she greatly enjoyed. Most of all she loved her family and friends. Angie will be dearly missed and will be forever in our hearts.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 21st, 10am at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in West Nyack. Visitation at the church will begin at 9am.  In lieu of flowers donations in Angie's name may be made to Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church , 1 Marycrest Road, West Nyack, NY 10994.
