Anna Hickey, retired Rockland Commissioner of Jurors and lifelong resident of Piermont, NY, passed away at the age of 95 at her riverfront home in Piermont on Tue., Nov. 22nd, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

She is predeceased by her husband John and daughter Veronica Hickey. Anna is survived by her daughters, Cecelia, Carol, Joanna and her sons, William and wife Donna, Ray and wife Katie, John and wife Lori; sisters, Constance Lynch, Teresa Raso; brother, John Mercurio; and her 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Anna had passion to serve her local community personally and professionally. For over 20 years she proudly served as the Rockland County Commissioner of Jurors, many referred to her as "The Commish." Her dedication to local communities extended to many volunteer organizations including: Catholic Daughters of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Piermont Library, Piermont Rotary, Democratic Community Woman Emerita, American Legion Auxiliary, Rockland Lodge 2176 of the Order of the Sons of Italy.

Anna was an active member of St. John the Baptist Church in Piermont. Chef Anna was a highlight at the Annual Church Christmas Bazaar. She was a dedicated member of the church choir. A woman of passion, Anna shined bright when entertaining family and friends, cooking her Italian delicacies, pruning the blocks most colorful roses, tuning to the hymns of her favorite songs, stroking her pen into a beautiful poem and even from time to time honking her red clown nose as fiddle faddle Anna.

A Funeral Mass will be held Wed., Nov. 30th, 11:30am at St. John the Baptist Church, 895 Piermont Ave., Piermont.  Burial to follow at the Rockland Cemetery, 201 Kings Highway, in Sparkill. Visitation will be on Tue., Nov. 29th, 2-9pm at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan.
