Obituary

Anne B. Giotta, 93, of River Vale, NJ, passed away on November 17, 2023. A long-time resident of Harrington Park, she was born in Donegal, Ireland on January 25, 1930, one of 12 children of Joseph and Elizabeth McBrearty.

She was predeceased by her son, Michael, in 2013.

Survivors include her children: Kathleen Delano, Lorelei Lotvin (Alan), Joseph, and Peter; brother Gerald McBrearty; grandchildren Christopher Giotta (Kristina), Natalie Giotta, Arthur Vale, Samuel Delano, and Julia and Sarah Lotvin; great-grandchildren Matthew and Emily Giotta; as well as hundreds of extended family members and beloved friends.

A devout Catholic, Anne worked as a bookkeeper for 30 years at the Society of African Missions in Tenafly, NJ.

Anne was a fierce patriot and naturalized U.S. citizen. Late in life, she founded PMIC Inc., where she was instrumental in overturning a law hindering national defense. She was coined by a three-star General Officer and treated to a private VIP tour of the Pentagon.

She loved her family, friends, Scrabble, jokes, word games, pets, Irish music, and travel.

She saw the world with her many senior club friends, and recently returned from trips to Ireland to visit friends and family, and the Bahamas for some fun in the sun.

A Memorial Mass and interment next to her beloved son, Michael, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Tenafly, NJ, will be followed by a Celebration of Life this Spring.

All are welcome. Details will be announced soon.
