Mrs. Barbara Ann Hofsommer (nèe Kuhn), a lifelong resident of Tappan, died peacefully on Monday, August 2, 2021. She was born on November 22, 1946 at Nyack Hospital to Clarence "Dutch" Kuhn and Mary Madeline Uebelacker Kuhn. Barbara worked in both the Orangetown School District as well as the Orangetown Police Department, ending her career as the court clerk for the Town of Orangetown. Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 37 years Christian G. Hofsommer Jr. She is survived by her son Christian G. Hofsommer III and his wife Kathleen; sisters Lillian Steurcke and her husband John, Joan Lenhart; several nieces and nephews; and her grandpup Hudson. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 6th at 11am at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan with burial to follow at the Tappan Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, August 5th from 4-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association of America at www.alzfdn.org.
