Bruce E. Baez, born March 25, 1958, known to many as "Buddha" passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021. He had a contagious smile and a laugh that was heard for miles. Bruce was a lifetime member at both Piermont and Tappan Volunteer Fire Departments. He worked as a specialty mechanic at Lamont-Doherty for 32 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Anna. Bruce is survived by four brothers: Peter, Carlos, Andrew and Brian. Remembered by the mother of his children Diane, sons Bruce and Brian as well as daughter Laurenmarie and granddaughters Keaton and Lucy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to dance the night away. He loved selflessly and with his whole heart and will be missed tremendously by all who got to call him a friend. Visiting hours will Thursday, 3-8pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. A prayer service will be held Thursday, 6pm followed by a firematic service at 7pm.
