Obituary

Catherine F. Linehan, 79, of Orangeburg passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2023. Devoted mother of Kate, Pat (Tara), Dan (Lisa) and Jerry (Cathy). Proud and loving grandmother to Danny, Grace, Kellie, Patrick, Tommy, Joseph, Brigid and Ellie.

Catherine was born and raised in Brooklyn. She moved with her beloved husband Pat, who predeceased her in 2021, to Orangeburg in 1972 to raise their family. They were happily married for 52 years. She was active in many organizations involving her children when they were young as well as Saint Catharine's Church. She returned to work as an administrative assistant at Dominican University and enjoyed her work there for many years before her retirement.

She is also survived by her sister, Mary Welsome, her brother Thomas (Janet) Reynolds, sisters and brothers in law, Kathleen Barry, Maura (Jack) McGuinness, Sally Linehan, Jerry (Maureen) Linehan, and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 1st, 10am at Saint Catharine's Church in Blauvelt. Visiting hours will be Sunday, April 30th from 3-8pm at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to United Hospice of Rockland ( https://unitedhospiceinc.org/ ) or the Saint Catharine's CYO/Rec Scholarship in the name of Patrick Linehan.
