Daniel Andre McGonigle, 91, of Teaneck, NJ and formerly of Bayonne, NJ, passed away peacefully August 27, 2026 in Englewood, NJ. Born in 1935 to Daniel John McGonigle and Myrtle Andre McGonigle, Dan spent his formative years living on Avenue E in Bayonne, and graduated from Bayonne High School in 1953. He served four years in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1955 - 1959, primarily stationed in Washington, D.C. After honorable discharge, Dan returned to St. Peter's College and graduated in 1961, where his future wife, Bernice Dippel, also attended, whom he married nearly 60 years ago. They have resided in Teaneck, NJ since 1971. In 1996, Dan retired from a long career in the U. S. Government, Social Security Administration. He enjoyed his hobbies of woodworking, reading, cooking, bird watching, and surf fishing. Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Bernice, sons Neil A. (Katie) of Midland Park, NJ, and Ryan A. (Elena) of Leonia, NJ, daughter Erin M. of New Orleans, LA, brother Thomas G. (Janet) of Bayonne, NJ, and grandchildren Luke and Emma of Midland Park, and Cynthia and Daniel I. of Leonia. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Joan McGonigle Greene. He will be universally missed by all who loved him, and his legacy will fondly be remembered by future generations of his family.
