IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel J.
Riordan
December 6, 1950 – August 13, 2025
Daniel Joseph Riordan, age 75, was a multi-enthusiast; he loved music, world travel, teaching, and was a die-hard Rangers fan and beloved partner. Dan died unexpectedly on August 13th, 2025, at his home.
Born in 1950 in New York City, Dan attended St. Catherine's Blauvelt NY, Bergen Catholic High School Oradell NJ and St. John's University in NYC. After college he became a teacher focusing on special education.
While still teaching Dan developed into an entrepreneur buying and selling real-estate and was quite good at that. Dan loved to travel visiting Asia, Europe and of course the United States. In his travels Dan would collect items from all over and bring them into his classroom to share and bring history and geography to life for his students. Dan wanted to inspire his students to push their boundaries and chase their dreams.
Dan had a passion for the New York Rangers. He would buy season tickets every year and divvy them up with friends.
Dan is survived by his long time partner Tess her daughter Joan, his siblings Loretta, Eileen, Joe (Maryann) and four nieces and nephews Michael (Lorena), Megan (Evan), Brian and John.
A wake will be held on Monday, August 18th, 5-8pm and Tuesday, August 19th 9-10:30am at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, 11am, St. Catharine's Church in Blauvelt.
