Edgar Raul Perez Jr. (September 11, 2022) passed away peacefully at the early age of 42 after his long, courageous battle with cancer at his childhood home in Tappan, NY surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife Gina, his precious son Dylan, his devoted parents Ray and Raul Perez, and his caring sister Melissa Masiello and her husband Matt, his nieces and nephews Mikayla, Anthony, and Nico.

Edgar was a family man devoted to his wife and son. He was a loyal son and brother, always putting his family first. He was born in Brooklyn and raised in Rockland County, and attended school at Tappan Zee High School. During his high school years, he was a competitive swimmer and then went on to Binghamton University where he continued his love of swimming. After graduation, he went on to establish the New York Sharks Aquatics Swim Team where he developed meaningful, life-long friendships. He gave so much of his time to the community by coaching generations of swimmers and instilling in them the values of hardwork and teamwork.

Edgar grew up playing baseball and developed a love for the New York Mets which is something he passed on to Dylan.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, 10am, at St. Catharine's Church, 523 Western Highway, Blauvelt with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Moritz Funeral Home, 98 Route 303, Tappan, NY.
