Obituary

Edna J. Jansens lived 101 years as a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her extended family, dancing, traveling, taking care of her flowers, and doing her crossword puzzles.

Born in Trieste (which is now Italy), she immigrated with her parents to Clason Point (Bronx), New York when she was three years old. Edna was married to her beloved husband John for 48 years until his death in 1998. Edna is survived by daughter, Ginger, and two sons, Jim and Bruce, and their families. She is also survived by her brother Bob Larisch, his wife, and their children and spouses.

Edna and John moved from Washington Heights in Manhattan to Orangeburg, NY in 1958. After her husband's death, Edna continued to live in Orangeburg until moving to Tappan Zee Manor, Nyack, NY, in 2018.

After her husband's death, Edna traveled to many exotic destinations. She kept active with her crossword puzzles and flower planting.

Edna will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. In her memory her family asks that loved ones and friends love life and live it with gusto.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Mon., Feb. 13th, 11am at St. Catharine's Church, 523 Western Highway, Blauvelt, NY. Visiting will be Mon., Feb. 13th, 10-10:45am at the funeral home in Tappan. In lieu of flowers, donation to a charity of one's choice will be greatly appreciated.
