Edward Joseph Bagnell passed away on August 19, 2022, at the age of 77 after a long battle with dementia. He was surrounded by the love of his daughters and has now joined the love of his life Sheila (predeceased) into the arms of God.

Ed was born on November 6, 1944 and was raised in the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx. He graduated from St. Helena's High School in 1962. On July 13, 1968 he married his true love Sheila Treacy. After being drafted into the US Army during the Vitenam War, Ed served his time at Fort Greely in Alaska. Ed and Sheila spoke fondly and gratefully about the time they spent together in Alaska. After completing his service, Ed and Sheila settled in the "treetops" of Sloatsburg, where they raised their two daughters. For 30 years, Ed took the early train each day to and from Manhattan to work as a phone technician for NY Telephone.

Ed was certainly "one of a kind." He was a man of routine with strong convictions.....swaying Ed was not an easy feat. He was fiercely loyal, honest, faithful, and hard working. He loved his family and "his girls" with all of his being. His other loves included hiking,listening to music on the front porch, long car trips and visiting historical sights up and down the East Coast.

Ed is survived by his daughter Alison Ko and son-in-law Peter, daughter Emily McKay and son-in-law Kevin; grandchildren Hannah, Conall, Samuel, Kaitlyn and Kiera; brother George and sister-in-law Leslie; in-laws John and Susan Treacy, Brian and Mary Treacy; nieces Diane, Moira and Liz; and nephews Robert, Sean and Brian.

As Ed would say, his life "wasn't good...it was great!"

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, August 24th, 4-8pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 25th, 10am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan, NY.
