IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eileen Marie
Vovchik
February 17, 1933 – October 29, 2022
Eileen's life was devoted to her family - her adoring daughter Valerie Medina (& favorite son-in-law Tony), and her only son Joseph Vovchik, as well as her grandchildren Melissa (Craig) Deierlein, Danielle Medina (Kevin Heckstall), Marc (Sarah) Medina, Nicole (Khris) Arvanites, Natasha (Zak) Schlenger, Taylor (Ryan) Conner, Kylee (Jun) Aguilar, Brandon (Halie) Vovchik, and Ava Sangavaram. She was blessed with 15 great grandchildren Collin, Cassidy, Cayden, Mason, Malia, Carter, Madeline, Isla, Tallulah, Dallas, Caleb, Gia, Jude, Kent, and Yuna. She often said it was her great grandchildren that kept her young and complimented her playful nature.
However, when it was time to party it was her adult grandchildren that she really let loose with, whether it was doing an ice luge of Fireball with Danielle at a family BBQ, flirting with Marc's Army buddies at his wedding, hitting up the dance floor with Melissa for their favorite song together "Come on Eileen", or rocking out at the Who concert with Nicole belting out songs neither one of them thought they knew.
She was Big Nanny to all that knew her, which included an extended group friends & family. She loved to make people laugh – even at her own expense, from her crazy accessories for all the different holidays to her love of boas and all things leopard print.
Eileen was most comfortable behind the wheel of her all her sports cars over the years - her red Camaro in the 80's, the black Mustang in the 90's, her orange Mitsubishi Eclipse into the new millennium, and most recently her white BMW! The only thing that could slow her down was the brick wall of her doctor's office…twice!
Eileen enjoyed going to her Seniors club especially the casino trips, and her bowling leagues in Northvale & New City where she, of course, used her signature 14-pound leopard print bowling ball. She also loved traveling with her family. Her daughter Valerie always made sure that Eileen was there for all the family cruises, trips to Disney World, the Jersey shore, and so many more.
Eileen loved her Irish heritage, which was evident in her singing all her favorite Irish tunes every Saint Patrick's Day with a Screwdriver cocktail in hand. She was a strong, Irish, Catholic woman who attended mass at OLV Church and her favorite charity was always St Jude's Children's Research Hospital. Should you feel moved, donations may be made in Eileen's name to St Jude's.
