Elaine Ricciutti, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend, passed away on October 22, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who loved her dearly.

Elaine was born in Mississippi to Julie Sinde and Salvatore DeCaro. Her father, Salvatore, was killed in action during World War II and was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart. As an infant, Elaine moved with her family to Brooklyn, where she spent her childhood and young adult years. On August 10, 1943, she married Vincent "Buddy" Ricciutti, who preceded her in death on November 23, 1979.

In 1965, Elaine and Buddy moved to Demarest, New Jersey, where Elaine would make her home for the rest of her life. Alongside her beloved mother, Julie, Elaine raised her three children, Jim, Mike, and Lisa, creating a loving and happy home filled with laughter, warmth, and countless wonderful memories. Demarest remained home to Elaine, Julie, and her children throughout the years.

Elaine was a strong, independent, and funny woman with a wonderful spirit and a personality all her own. She was the owner of Haworth Travel in Haworth, New Jersey, where she found great enjoyment in helping families plan vacations, honeymoons, and business travel. She loved being part of people's special journeys and helping them create memories of their own.

Above all, Elaine treasured her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved spending time with them. She also had a lifelong love of reading and could almost always be found with a book nearby.

Elaine was the beloved mother of James(Ellen), Michael(Karla), and Lisa(Bill) Carlos. She was the cherished grandmother of Julie and Cristina, Michael, Alexa and the late Gianna, and Madeline, Alesandra, and Jaqueline. Her family was her greatest joy, and the love, laughter, and memories they shared will remain with them always.

Elaine will be remembered for her strength, independence, humor, love of family, and the happy home she helped create.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Elaine's memory to the Demarest Public Library, a place close to the community she called home.
