Ellen McAuley of Tappan entered into Eternal Life at the age of 100 on Easter Sunday, April 9th, 2023, accompanied by the love, prayers, and gratitude of her son and daughter after a courageous battle with stomach cancer.

Ellen was born on September 5, 1922, in Crossmolina, County Mayo, Ireland, to John and Mary Granahan. She was one of eight children, predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Martin, Michael, Anthony, John, Mary, Sarah, and Bridget.

She emigrated to the United States in 1947. She married Harry McAuley on April 11, 1953, in Ireland. (Harry died on April 29, 2008.) They raised their children, Joseph and Catherine, in the parish of St. Nicholas of Tolentine in the Bronx. In addition to her children, Ellen is survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews in Ireland and the U.S.

Reposing at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan on Wed., April 12th, 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will be on Thu., April 13th, 11am at St. Catharine of Alexandria Church, Blauvelt, NY and internment at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
