Emil B. Giotta, 84, of Pine Bush, New York, passed away on July 10, 2022, after a long illness. He was born to Frank and Frances Giotta of Harrington Park, N.J. on January 23, 1938. He was predeceased by his son, Michael, in 2013.
Survivors include his four children: Kathleen Delano, Lorelei Lotvin (Alan), Joseph Giotta, and Peter Giotta (Maria); brother David Giotta (Nancy), sister Madeline Giotta, and six grandchildren: Christopher, Natalie, Arthur, Samuel, Julia, and Sarah, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
A true Renaissance Man, Emil was a Cornell-educated landscape architect, and a sought-after speaker on Native American life and artifacts. His article, "A Study of the Bifurcated-Stemmed Projectile Point" was published by The Eastern States Archeological Federation. He was an excellent hunter, cook, and taxidermist known for his love of and respect for the land. His ashes will return to his beloved ground as he requested.
The family will receive visitors at Moritz Funeral Home, 348 Closter Dock Rd., Closter, N.J., on Thursday, July 14, from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to a charity of your choice.
