George Thomas Griffith passed away peacefully on Friday, August 6, 2021, at his home in Blauvelt, NY with his family by his side. A resident of Rockland County, NY since 1980, George was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 22, 1947 to George Thomas and Joan Curley Griffith. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Eileen Corry Griffith, his sons, Colin, Sean, Brendan and his wife Jennifer and their daughter Frances Ruby, along with his twin sister Carol Rath, their sister Maureen Reilly, and cousins, nieces and nephews both here and across the pond.

George graduated from Regis High School, LeMoyne College, and Brooklyn Law School. He enjoyed the time of his memberships in the Blauvelt Lions Club, the Blauvelt Knights of Columbus and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. George was a lifelong learner and lover of history. He served as a lector at St. Catharine's Church in Blauvelt, NY and as a volunteer with Rockland County Hospice. George was a person of strong faith, integrity and compassion.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 13th from 4-8pm at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. The Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, August 14th, 10am at St. Catharine of Alexandria Church in Blauvelt, NY, with interment to follow at Tappan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to People to People (peopletopeopleinc.org). Alleviating hunger was a lifelong passion for George.
