Obituary

George Edgar Sealy, of Closter, a beloved husband, brother, father, grand- father, and great-grandfather, passed away on October 7, 2023. He was born on November 29, 1936, in the Bronx, New York, to his proud parents, George Ellis Sealy and Caroline Ann (Mazzetti) of Tuckahoe.George is survived by his devoted wife, Elena, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.Throughout his life, George Sealy was known for his dedication and service. He honorably served in the United States Army. He attended Ford- ham University and the American Institute of Banking. Started his career at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in NYC after leaving college to help support his Mother and sisters after the untimely death of his father. He retired after 40 years in the banking industry as AVP of Design & Con- struction for JP Morgan. George also served as a volunteer firefighter and coached his sons' Little League teams. A devoted New York Yankees fan, he followed their games with passion and shared many happy memories with his friends and chil- dren. He also had a green thumb and took great pride in his tomato garden. George's appreciation for his garden came from his Grandfather Mazzetti's farm in Bennington, Vermont where his family would spend many summers. George had a deep love for history, his grand dogs, fine food and family gatherings. He had a penchant for tracing his family tree, preserving the rich history of his lineage. George was a family man through and through, He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in the hearts of his children: Stephen P Sealy, married to Barbara (Wagner); Gerard Sealy; Dawn Sealy, married to Jason Fragale. He was also a devoted and supportive stepfather to Anna Fusco and Len- ny Fusco and wife Charlene. George's was so proud of his grandchildren! Stephen A Sealy, married to Pharan (Evans); Christopher Sealy; Hannah Sealy and Sofia Fusco. His heart swelled with joy when he welcomed his great-granddaughter, Juniper Sealy, into the, bringing him immense happi- ness and pride. His love extended to all those fortunate enough to be a part of his life. George is also survived by his loving sister, Carol Sealy Dauber, and her husband, Norman Dauber, as well as his cherished niece, Melissa Dauber. His brother-in-law, Romeo Podesta. He preceded in death by his Parents, his lifelong best friend, Joseph Carlo, and his sister, Jane Sealy. George E Sealy's memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived. Visiting hours Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 6-9pm, at Moritz Funeral Home, Closter, NJ. Funeral Mass will be held 10am on Wednesday, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Closter, NJ. Burial to follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, NY .
