Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Gertrude (Mickey) Amato, passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 7, 2025.  She was 91 years old.

A longtime resident of Blauvelt, Mom was the heart and soul of our family who devoted her life to her true love of 70 years, Edward and their five children, Diane, Joan (Rue), Margaret, Edward, Jr. (Carol) and William.

Our mother, was a loving and nurturing presence in our lives and her memory will forever be cherished.

In addition to her devoted husband and children, Mickey is survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan on Thursday, June 12 from 4-8 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 13 at 10 am at St. Catharine's Church in Blauvelt with interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Haverstraw.
