Harold B. Jones, 91, a lifelong Rockland County resident died Dec. 23, 2024.

Mr. Jones, a resident of Tappan, was born July 27, 1933 in Suffern, New York, to Wilford and Edith Jones. He graduated Suffern High School in 1951 and served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1957. Mr. Jones worked at Lederle Laboratories from 1957 to 1995 and was the superintendent of the DeWint House - George Washington's Headquarters in Tappan from 1992-2014.

He was also a 57 year member of the Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York, Master of Ramapo Lodge (1972), Assistant Grand Lecturer (1973) and District Deputy Grand Master (1974).

Harold was married to Katharina for 60 years until her passing in 2020. He is survived by his sister, Peggy Wright; son Harold W. Jones; daughter Linda M. Ferreira; and grandchildren, Jennifer Rankin, Kevin Jones, Stephanie Jones, Scott Rankin, Christopher Jones and Derek Ferreira.

Visitation will be held Thursday, 5-9pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. A Masonic service will be help at 7pm.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, 11am at the Tappan Reformed Church, 35 Kings Highway in Tappan with internment at the Brick Church Cemetery in New Hempstead to follow.
