Isabel Mary "Izzy" McAloon Conroy, 86, of Sparkill, NY, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Izzy will be dearly remembered for her loyalty, wit, and unwavering devotion to those around her.

Born on September 2, 1938, in White Plains, NY, to a loving family, Izzy spent her early years in Mamaroneck, where she graduated from Mamaroneck High School. Guided by a deep sense of purpose and compassion, she went on to earn her nursing degree from Columbia Nursing School. Her nursing career, which spanned an impressive 35 years at Nyack Hospital and Pascack Valley Hospital, touched countless lives—she became affectionately known as the neighborhood nurse, always ready with wisdom and a smile.

On August 27, 1960, Izzy married Barry W. Conroy Jr., beginning a partnership filled with laughter, devoted companionship, and adventures together. They raised three loving children and cherished family time above all. Her husband, Barry, preceded her in death, along with her dear son, Barry W. Conroy III.

Izzy is survived by a son, Brian Conroy, (grandchildren Caitlin and Conner); a daughter, Jennifer Daly, husband John, (grandchildren John, Christopher, and Patrick); and two grandchildren, James and Ryan, from her late son Barry. She is also Survived by her brother, Richard McAloon and her cousin Ann Croce.

A committed member of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Piermont, Izzy also made a difference as a volunteer with the Sparkill Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Piermont Thrift Store, and served as the local Republican Party President and committee member. She was a past volunteer with the Cub Scouts and Brownies, always sharing her time and care selflessly.

Izzy loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, making memories on trips with her husband, and telling stories that left everyone laughing. Her intelligence, quick humor, and boundless warmth made her a cherished figure throughout her community and beyond.

Burial will take place August 29th, 10:30am at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on August 30th, 10am at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Piermont. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society and Joe Raso Hospice in Izzy's memory. She will be greatly missed, and always remembered for her service, laughter, and love.
