It is with great sadness we announce the passing of James T. Cody, 37, of Tappan, NY. James passed away on March 29, 2023, due to injuries he sustained from a prior car accident. He is predeceased by his grandfather (Salvatore Caiola) and grandparents (James and Kathleen Cody). He is survived by his parents (James and Diane Cody), grandmother (Mary Caiola), brother (Derek Cody), sister-in-law (Caroline Cody), sister (Kerri Blue), brother-in-law (Eddie Blue), and nephew (Derek Cody). He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. James will always be remembered for his sense of humor and contagious smile. James' family wishes to personally thank the Orangetown Police Department, South Orangetown Ambulance Corp, the nurses at Nyack Hospital, Rehabologym (Avrielle), CPI - Case Worker (Christine) and his home nurses (Lourdes and Lenka) who helped care for him over the years. They especially want to thank Dr. Brijender Pal Batra, who cared for James from the beginning of his injuries. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 4th, 4-8 pm at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 5th, 11 am at Our Lady Sacred Heart Church in Tappan, NY.
