In Loving Memory of Jamie O'Connell

With profound sadness and immense love, we announce the passing of Jamie O'Connell of Blauvelt, New York, who passed away on August 25, 2026, after a courageous 12-year battle with cancer. Born on May 9, 1985, to her loving parents, Patrick and Julia Connolly, Jamie grew into a woman whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and dear friend.

Jamie faced her illness with extraordinary strength, grace, and determination. Through every challenge, she remained steadfast in her love for her family and friends, inspiring all who knew her with her resilience, kindness, and unwavering spirit. While cancer was part of her journey, it never defined her. Instead, she will be remembered for the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the courage she demonstrated each day.

Jamie was a proud graduate of Albertus Magnus High School before continuing her education at Siena College, where she formed lifelong friendships and created memories she would cherish throughout her life. She carried throughout her life a love of learning, service, and community. Above all else, she was a devoted wife and loving mother whose greatest joy came from her family. Her beloved twins, Kensie and Kellan, were the center of her world, and she cherished every opportunity to be involved in their lives.

Jamie was a familiar and welcome presence in Kensie and Kellan's classrooms, always volunteering whenever she could. Her love for her children was endless and evident in even the smallest acts. While Kensie and Kellan attended religious education classes at St. Catharine's, Jamie would volunteer at the school simply so they would feel comfortable knowing their mom was nearby. She treasured every opportunity to be part of their lives, and her constant presence reflected the deep love and devotion she had for her children.

Jamie had a special place in her heart for animals and wildlife. Her home was a haven not only for family and friends but also for the many creatures she cared for. She delighted in feeding all the animals that visited her yard daily especially the deer with their babies, all the birds including the cardinals, and sharing treats with the squirrels who seemed to know they were always welcome. Her compassion for all living things reflected the loving and nurturing spirit that made her so special.

Jamie also knew how to appreciate life's simple pleasures. Whether spending time with family and friends, sharing laughter and stories, or relaxing with her favorite glass of Prosecco and orange juice, Jamie found joy in the moments that brought people together. She especially loved cruising with her family and friends, and those trips became some of her most treasured memories. For Jamie, it was never about the destination but about being surrounded by the people she loved most and making memories that would last a lifetime.

Jamie is survived by her loving husband, Kevin O'Connell; her beloved twins, Kensie and Kellan; her devoted father, Patrick Connolly; her brother, Matt Connolly and his wife, Alina Connolly; her sister, Kerri Connolly and Dan Thorson; and her brother, Chris Connolly and his wife, Lisa Connolly. She is also survived by her treasured mother-in-law, Doreen O'Connell; her sister-in-law, Krissy Mulcahy; and her cherished nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Olivia, Jayden, Ethan, Dylan, Evan, Lily, Thomas, and Danny, all of whom brought her tremendous pride, joy, and happiness.

Jamie was predeceased by her beloved mother, Julia Connolly; her cherished father-in-law, James O'Connell ("Jim Jim"); her adored brother-in-law, Stefan Connolly; and her very loved dog, Lenny, who brought her years of companionship, comfort, and unconditional love. Their love, strength, guidance, and memories remained with her throughout her life, and it brings comfort to know they are reunited in eternal peace.

Jamie leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, faith, compassion, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. Her beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Of all the gifts Jamie gave to those she loved, none was greater than the love she gave as a mother. Her unwavering devotion to Kensie and Kellan was the guiding force of her life, and the lessons, values, and endless love she shared with them will remain a part of them forever.

Though our hearts ache with her absence, we take comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and in the countless acts of love she shared throughout her life. We are grateful for the example of courage, selflessness, kindness, and unwavering devotion that she gave so freely to her family, friends, and community.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan, New York, on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass celebrating Jamie's life will be held at St. Catharine's Church in Blauvelt, New York, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
