IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louise Ng
Pang
February 4, 1930 – December 15, 2024
Louise Ng Pang was called "home" early Sunday morning on Dec. 15, 2024, after final farewells from her beloved children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. She was ready to be with the love of her life George again.
At the age of sixteen she met and married George Pang. They immigrated to America and started their life together. First living in Mississippi and then later moving to New York. While George worked in Chinatown, Louise worked the "Chinese Laundry" that they started in Astoria, NY. She worked many hours in the laundry business and learning English at the same time. After twenty years, she retired from this business and worked in a pharmacy in Chinatown and soon was managing the store. She loved her job there and all the people she met, especially the young people that worked there. The feeling was mutual, and many of them remained in contact with her after her retirement.
Louise was blessed with five children Albert (Teresa), May Lim (Lenny), Robert (May), June (Henry) and James (Linda); twelve grandchildren, Adam, Lisa, Brian (Dina), Darren, Bryan, Stacey (Rande), Michelle, Madison, Marinna, Jonathan, Michael, and Stephanie; ten great-grandchildren: Dhiriel, Mariah, Celine, Justin, Kayla, Alina, Tavian, Alexis, Nathan, and Elizabeth and five great-great-grandchildren: Avelina, Kai, Marciano, Joule, and Isabelle. She is also survived by two brothers: Soon Jung and Yee Jung (Terri) and many nephews and nieces.
Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren were always her pride and joy. She never ceased to brag about them. To their delight, she was always the fun mom / grandma that you can go to with your problems or happy stories, with never any judgement by her. She had a warm sense of humor, laughing with and participating with the grandchildren's antics. She would often pretend to be the "mean" grandma with her "knuckle threat to the back of their head", but she would never actually carry it out.
She loved to travel, and she and George would travel everywhere by bus, sometimes bringing their grandchildren with them. Louise was afraid of flying and George was afraid of getting seasick, so their travel destinations were limited by the bus. Their children encouraged them more and more to try flying and cruising. Once they gave in and flew and cruised, the entire world was now opened to them. Hawaii became a favorite destination.
Louise loved to garden, read, and watch TV. Some of her favorite shows were the old westerns, like: Gunsmoke, Rifleman and Bonanza. She was a great friend to many and when she went to the Senior Center, she would always help those that needed some extra assistance.
She will be missed by family and friends. We were so blessed that she was a part of our lives. We thank her for all her love and we know she will watch over us from heaven.
