It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Lucille Mary Schmidt nee Territo of Dumont, NJ who left us on February 27th at the age of 86 years.
Lucille was born December 8th, 1938, in, Montclair, NJ. Married in 1970 she and her devoted Husband Detlef (Louie) Schmidt spent the next years of their lives in Clifton NJ., raising their son Rich. Widowed in 2013, Lucile has spent the last 7 years of her life living with her only son Rich and his wife Tracy. Lucille became an integral part of that big loving family. Lucille loved being part of every celebration, always willing to babysit the twin boys, Peter and Dillon and the girls Belle and Brooklyn that came with her extended family, and not to mention the dogs that she loved, Molly, Kerry, Bei Bei, Dinky and Charlie along with the latest Bruno, and her precious cat Jade! The ultimate animal lover and protector!
Lucille is predeceased by her parents Dominick and Madeline, her brother Dominick and sister Claudette (Cookie ) Steed.
Lucille, is survived by her beloved son Rich and daughter-in-law Tracy, her niece Michele and Todd Schlenker and their children Cameron, Brendan and Jacob, her sister-in-law Bonita Vella, her children Michelle & Peter Stabile, and their son Antonio and Francesca and Tim Doty and their children Elizabeth and Vinny. Lucille also left behind a large extended family via her daughter in law Tracy Ellen Romano who adore her and will miss her terribly!
All who knew her and loved her will miss her presence, a real hero, a woman who never gave up, loved to dance and drink a glass of champagne, and was totally devoted to her family and animals. Lucille's generosity in always pitching in to help all who needed her will never be forgotten!
