It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marcelo Walter Renzi on August 19, 2026, at the age of 56, after a difficult battle with FTD/ALS. We are grateful to know that he is finally at peace.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shari, their adored child, Anya, his parents, Teresa and Arduino Renzi, his three brothers and countless loving family and friends.

Marcelo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and grew up in Westerly, RI where he attended Westerly High School. He went on to study architecture, graduating from Pratt Institute in 1992. After a short stint in Virginia, Marcelo returned to NYC where he met and married, Shari Krasnow. For the past 26 years, they have split their time between Brooklyn and Tappan, NY.

He spent most of his professional career as the Director of Construction at a large NYC real estate development company where he managed multi-million-dollar projects. His dedication, loyalty and work ethic made him a beloved mentor and revered colleague among his peers and throughout the NYC real estate and construction industry.

In his free time, Marcelo could be found engaging in any of his favorite sports- bike riding, playing tennis, running and hiking- or working on renovation and restoration projects. He cherished relaxing evenings outdoors smoking a fine cigar with some red wine or whiskey and his favorite music.

He loved fiercely and would do anything for his family and friends. He made everyone who knew him laugh at the stories he shared. Marcelo will be forever loved and remembered and will be missed infinitely.
