Margaret Mary "Margie" Cameron, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024, at the age of 93. Born June 15, 1931 in Nyack, New York, she was the daughter of George and Margaret (Nugent) Glover.
A graduate of Tappan Zee High School in Piermont, NY (Class of 1949), Margaret worked for many years at Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River, NY, before retiring in 1989. After retirement, she moved to Middleburgh, NY, where she spent the rest of her life. Prior to her move, Margaret had been a longtime resident of Sparkill and Piermont, NY, where she raised her family.
She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley Church, Middleburgh NY
Margie also had a special fondness for Ireland, and her travels there were a source of great happiness in her later years.
Margaret was a woman of great talent and warmth. She was known for her love of knitting, sewing, and reading, passions that brought her joy and connected her to others. Her greatest pride and joy were her children & grandchildren, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She always found ways to spoil them with love, laughter, and homemade gifts.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Glover; her husband, Wilbur Cameron; her daughter, Carol Cameron; and her granddaughter, Tina Cameron.
She is survived by her son, Robert Cameron; her grandson, William Cameron (Christine); and her great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Claire, and Catherine. She is also survived by her siblings, George Glover (Pat), Mary Conklin, Danny Glover (Terry), and Ann Glover Witherell, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom she cherished dearly.
She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 17th from 2 to 5pm at Moritz Funeral Home, Tappan NY.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, Piermont NY on Monday, November 18th at 11:30am. Burial will follow at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY.
