Margaret M. Jordan, lovingly known as Peggy to her family and friends, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025. She resided in Orangeburg, NY.

Born on August 2, 1951, in the Bronx to the late Peter and Margaret Healion, Margaret grew up surrounded by love and a deep appreciation for education and family. She graduated from Mount Saint Vincent College in 1973 with a degree in Mathematics—a field she would go on to teach with passion and purpose throughout her life.

Margaret dedicated her career to shaping young minds, spending 30+ years as an elementary school math teacher in the Bronx. Her devotion extended beyond the classroom, as she also tutored students in SAT preparation during the evenings. She approached teaching not just as a profession, but as a calling—treating every student with care, warmth, and encouragement, as if they were her own.

In 1980, Margaret married the love of her life, Brian Jordan. They later settled in Orangeburg, where they built a home filled with love, laughter, and the joyful chaos of raising their three children: Brian Andrew, Matthew James, and Noreen Margaret. Though she treasured her roles as educator and mother, Margaret found her greatest joy in being a grandmother to her four beloved grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure.

Margaret is survived by her devoted husband Brian; her three children and their spouses—Brian and Jamie, Matthew and Susana, and Noreen and Matthew; her cherished grandchildren—Hannah, Madison, Owen, and Scott; as well as a large and loving extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Visitation will be at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan on Thursday, April 24 from 4-8pm. Her Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 25 at 10am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Tappan with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
