IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Honora
Kopac
October 28, 1936 – October 22, 2023
Margaret Honora Kopac passed peacefully on October 22, 2023 at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC, following a period of declining health. A life-long resident of Rockland County, NY, she only recently moved to Hendersonville, NC, to be closer to immediate family.
Peg was born at Nyack Hospital on October 28, 1936 to Jane (Kubacz) and Frederick Hoffman. She graduated from Nyack High School in 1954, and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University before embarking on a career in the business world. Starting as a secretary, her intelligence and hard work led her to complete her career as a manager in the advertising department of Volvo of North America in Rockleigh, NJ. She engendered respect and admiration of all her colleagues.
Peg was an active supporter through the years of Camp Venture and ARC, helping to ensure the growth and stability of services available to special needs people in Rockland County, including her beloved daughter, Laura.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kopac; brothers Fred Hoffman and Robert Hoffman; and most recently her daughter, Laura, whose loss Peg could not fully recover from.
Peg is survived by her daughter, Alexandra "Sandy" Langdon-Kaufman (Alan) of Hendersonville, NC; grandsons Joshua Langdon (Jessica) of Flagstaff, AZ, and Matthew Langdon (Jennifer) of Arden, NC; great-grand children Levi, Cody, and Lily; and many extended family members, including in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She always considered her ex son-in-law, Edward Langdon (Tracy) of Max Meadows, VA, a member of her family as well. She enjoyed life-long and enduring friendships with many, but was especially appreciative of her close and dedicated friend, Kathleen Chadwick of River Vale, NJ.
Peg will always be remembered as a loyal daughter, wife, mother, family member, and friend.
A Memorial Mass will be said Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Catharine's Church in Blauvelt, NY, followed by interment at Rockland Cemetery, Sparkill, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations to The ARC Rockland would be appreciated ( https://www.arcofrockland.org /).
