Margaret "Peggy" Shortt, 80, passed away on February 14, 2022.Peggy was born on February 3, 1942 in Gubaveeny, Blacklion, County Cavan, Ireland and was a resident of Blauvelt, New York since 1973.She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Bernard ("Benny"), two sons Brian (Laura) and Michael (Patricia), five grandchildren, Nadia, Joseph, Mae, Owen and Declan.She is also survived by her sister, Maura Quinn (Thomas), two brothers, Michael (Margaret) and Noel (Tilly), and many loving nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her mother and father Thomas and Kathleen.She was a tireless supporter of her family, whether cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, supporting their educational efforts, or providing candy from Ireland to her grandchildren.She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 18, 2022, 10 am, at St. Catharine's Church in Blauvelt, NY with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ. Visiting hours will be Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm at the Moritz Funeral Home, Tappan, NY.In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America (https://alzfdn.org) or to the worthy cause of your choice.
