Maria Castagna (nèe Brunoforte) passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on January 9, 2022.She was born on December 26, 1928 in the Bronx, New York, and was married to Silvio C. Castagna for 55 years until his death in 2006.Maria's greatest joy was her family and she devoted her entire life to nurturing them.Supporting her childrens' educational and professional pursuits was always of the utmost importance to her.Maria was employed at several local businesses throughout her life. She is survived by her four children: Lorraine M. Castagna; Marianne (Thomas) Wood; James T. (Daria) Castagna; and David Castagna, together with seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.She is also survived by her loving sisters, Anna (Walter) Johnson and Yolanda Marino, and predeceased by five siblings.A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, January 17th, 12pm at St. Catharine's Church in Blauvelt. Visiting will be Monday, 9:30-11:30am at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan.
