Marie Deremeik entered eternal life on April 12, 2023.
Marie was born to Benjamin and Mary (Lynch) Goss in Brooklyn, NY, on June 1, 1930.
Marie married the love of her life on September 15, 1951. Marie and Tom started married life in Brooklyn, NY and in 1967 relocated to Blauvelt, NY with their family. Marie's priorities were God, Faith, Family and Friends. Marie was active in many organizations throughout her life. At St Catharine's, Prayer Shawl Ministry, Eucharistic Minister, Albertus Magnus HS Mother's Club, Red Hatters Group and Hospice of Rockland were some of the groups that benefited from her endless energy.
Her marriage, from her children's perspective was magical. For 61 years Tom and Marie opened their home to family and friends who became family. Together, Tom and Marie made their home a place of joyful gatherings.
She is predeceased by Tom (2011), her parents, brother Brian Goss, sister Margaret Murray and countless other family and friends. She is survived by her Children:
Alice (Frank), Mary (Mark), Jim (Peggy)and Patti (Dan). She leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Phil and Tom.
Marie lived a full and successful life and her legacy lives on through her family and the communities she served. While her passing is certainly a loss for those who knew her, her life is worth celebrating and remembering with humor and joy. Do not mourn her passing, celebrate her life!
In lieu of flowers, donations to United Hospice ( https://unitedhospiceinc.org ) or to St. Catharine's Church ( https://www.saintcatharines.org ) would be appreciated.
Visitation on Monday, 4-7pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, 10am at St. Catherine's Church in Blauvelt with burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet.
