Sparkill, NY - Tappan Location

Marie R. Hanrahan, 85, of Sparkill, NY left this world peacefully on Monday, August 23 with her family by her side. Marie was born in New York City to Rena and Rosario Carra. Marie was a devoted and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister in-law, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend. She was a loving wife to the late (Kieran) Joe Hanrahan; beloved mother to Karen (Leonardi), Dennis and Thomas; cherished grandmother to Meghan and Shannon Leonardi and adored great grandma to four grand pups, Luna, Hercules, and Rudy, and Koda. She had many relatives and friends whom she genuinely loved. Marie most enjoyed spending time with her family, her pride and joy were her children and granddaughters whom she loved so much. Marie worked as an Administrative Clerk in the South Orangetown School District and was a successful Avon Representative for many years, she left her work to tirelessly care for and comfort her mother during her final years. Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church in Piermont on Monday, August 30 at 11:30 am with visitation for one hour in the church hall prior to services. Burial to follow at Rockland Cemetery. The family would like to express sincere gratitude for all the love and support given during this time.
