Marie Rose Lyons (nee Morris) born September 27, 1948 in the Parkchester neighborhood of the Bronx, NY. She received her call to dance with the angels of Heaven March 5, 2024 in Cresskill, NJ.

Marie grew up in the nostalgic Parkchester neighborhood with her parents, two brothers and a sister where, as a feisty,  but dedicated St. Helena's student where she developed her enthusiasm for life, people and passion for helping others. She was a skier, beach goer, and Coney Island freckle contest contestant!

After graduation Marie began working at a NYC bank before she met Stephen Lyons. This led to many dates, a wedding and a move to Michigan in 1972 where they had their first child, Eileen in 1973, followed by Katie in 1974, and Michael in 1979. While Steve and Marie eventually divorced , her passion for family and fun was unwavering. She eventually gained the title of Grandma Marie and never stopped spoiling her four greatest prizes: AJ, Andre, Isabelle and Brooklyn. Her Grandkids, and later great-grandkids were the world!

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was everyone's biggest cheerleader. Marie/Mom/Grandma Marie always had your back! Marie was a forever helper. If you wanted or needed something done Marie would help take care of it! She had active roles with her kids and grandkids as well as with friends. She volunteered at her kids and grandkids schools, was a girl scout leader and chair of many fun parties at Henry Ford Medical Center in Plymouth Michigan (her ugly Christmas sweaters were award winning, to say the least). Marie loved spending time with her grandkids; making cookies, cheering them on at school events and filling them with snacks and too many kisses, of course. She could often be found cooking meals or fixing peoples clothing, crafting with her friends, cheering on her beloved Yankees. She was an advocate for curing cancer and one of the loudest at 1am when we would be participating in Relay for Life! Boy would she sing or dance or walk – whatever was needed to get those donations rolling in.

Marie is survived by her beautiful sister Patricia Delaney, her two daughters (Eileen and Katie), son (Michael) and two sons in-laws (Youssef and Frank), four grandchildren (AJ, Andre, Isabelle and Brooklyn, two step grandchildren (Peter and Dillion), and two great grand children (Ava and Amarion), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by all but has left us with memories that will be talked about for generations to follow.
