Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marina Lopez, also known to all as ELA. She was devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and pillar of love in our family. All who knew her called her ELA, thinking that was her name. That was her nickname. Her grandchildren, when they were toddlers, had a hard time saying abuela (grandmother in Spanish) and started calling her ELA.

Marina departed this world on March 17, 2025, surrounded by loved ones and memories of her cherished family.  Born on on December 25, 1931, in Tineo Asturias Spain, she lived a life filled with grace, kindness, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family. She had a great smile, which was highly contagious.   Her warmth and generosity touched countless lives, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be remembered.  She enjoyed traveling and spending summers in Spain, with her family, and visiting with her friends, the "Golden Girls" in Miami Beach.

Marina 'ELA" was predeceased by her loving daughter Elisa, and her husband, Francisco. She is survived by her loving daughter, Marisel, and her husband, Philip, and son in law Bill. Her grandchildren, Melissa and her husband Joseph, Christopher and his wife Samantha,  Frankie and his wife Antoinette, and Lauren and her husband Sean.   Her Great grandchildren, Justin and his brother Colton, Olivia and her brother Gavin, and Liam and his brother Milo. Marina's grandchildren and great grandchildren  were the center of her universe. She enjoyed cooking and going to all their activities. Her family was her greatest joy, and she spent her life nurturing and supporting them with unrelenting love.
