Mary Allen of Orangeburg, NY, 59, died peacefully on June 22 at her home after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born in Nyack, NY in 1963, grew up in Orangeburg and was a lifelong Rockland County resident. She was a graduate of Tappan Zee High School.
Mary is survived by her devoted and loving mother, Rita Joan Allen of Orangeburg, and was predeceased by her father Warren J. Allen. Also survived by sister Diane Allen-Smith (Bruce) of Boca Raton, FL, brother Warren of Bronx NY, and brother Joe (Michele) of Clark, NJ.
She is survived by six nieces and nephews, Keith Allen, Alannah Allen (Mitchell Gairdner), Brent Allen, Colleen Allen, Craig Allen and Brett Allen. She cherished her great niece Indi Gairdner and great nephew Kai Gairdner.
She always displayed caring and loving support to her family, especially to her nieces and nephews.
Her smile, laughter, and mischievous ways will live on through her family, her wonderful loving cousins and fantastic group of long-time friends to whom she was deeply devoted. Her passion was helping others. She loved spending time in Boca Raton, FL, "her happy place".
Prior to retiring Mary worked for over 20 years as a medical office manager for a medical practice within Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.
To know Mary was to love her.
