Obituary

MaryAnn Kendall (McManus), born in Orangeburg, NY to Matthew McManus and Helen McManus, passed away on April 5, 2026 at the age of 87. Mrs. Kendall was a lifelong resident of Orangeburg, NY and a parishioner of St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church in Blauvelt, NY. A devoted mother and homemaker, she was known for her love of family, her passion for the New York Yankees, and her adventurous spirit — from cross-country road trips with her children to beloved annual camping trips with her sisters and their families. In her youth she was an accomplished athlete, playing both baseball and basketball.

Mrs. Kendall was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Thomas H. Kendall, and her siblings Matthew (Butch) McManus, Gloria Mayernik, Helen Costa, and Grace Hoffman. She is survived by her children Debra Kendall of Pearl River, NY, Thomas Kendall of Tuckahoe, NY, Jeffrey Kendall of Ringwood NJ, Cynthia Kendall Gavenda of New Providence, NJ, and Gregory Kendall of Washington, D.C.; her 12 grandchildren Elizabeth, Dominic, Katie, Jeffrey, Mary, Alec, Greg, Maggie, Evan, Ryan, Joseph Lopez, and Corey Lopez Espinosa; and her seven great-grandchildren Stevie, Peyton, Ellie, Devon, Cruz, Sophia and Stephanie. She is also survived by sister in laws Bonnie McManus and Annette Kendall Webb.
