Maureen Murtha passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born in Manhattan and raised in Saddle Brook, NJ. She lived in numerous towns in Rockland County, NY for over 50 years and for the last few years spending her winters in Naples, Florida with her partner Dick. She worked for Berkeley College for 30 plus years in NJ. She is predeceased by her parents Margaret and Thomas McKiernan, her sisters in law Sylvia Murtha and Joanne Murtha, and her Best Friend Catherine "Cathy" Bonanno. Maureen loved spending time with family and friends but was happiest when shopping.

Maureen is survived by her three children, Philip, Susan, her husband Michael, Nancy, her husband Matthew: two grandchildren Ryan Grace and Tommy. Maureen is also survived by her sister Peggy Ann, her husband Bill, her sister Fran, her partner Walter, Patrick, his wife Phyllis, her brothers-in-law Kenny and Timmy, sister-in-law Eileen and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, April 21st, from to 4 – 8PM at Mortiz Funeral Home, 98 Route 303 Tappan, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 22nd at 10AM at St. Anthony's Shrine, 36 W Nyack Road Nanuet, NY. Burial is immediately following at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet, NY.
