Obituary

Noemi Angela Cicalo, of Orangeburg, NY, passed away peacefully on November 14th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  Noemi was born on March 10th, 1933 to Adamo and Sara Pigat in Pordenone, Italy. She emigrated to New York City in 1936, where she lived with her parents and siblings, Norma and Luigi, on East 29th Street in Manhattan. She attended Central Commercial High School, and upon graduation was employed by Reeves Sound Studio on the east side of Manhattan.
On June 18, 1955 Noemi married the love of her life Anthony Cicalo. They purchased a home on Wheeler Ave in the Bronx and began their wonderful 67-year journey through life together. They had four children together, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren of whom Noemi could not have been prouder.

Noemi is predeceased by her husband Anthony, her brother Luigi Pigat, her sister Norma Pigat and her parents. She is survived by her children, Anna Cicalo, Anthony Cicalo II (Laurie), Stephen Cicalo, and John Cicalo, her grandchildren: Nicole DeCaro (Larry), Sara Cicalo (Javaria), Anthony Cicalo III (Katy), Vincent Cicalo (Ashley), Julia Cicalo, Cara Cicalo, Christopher Cicalo, her great-grandchildren: Luca DeCaro, Antonina DeCaro, Nicolas DeCaro, and Lucia Cicalo.

Noemi was an expert at knitting and crochet.  She was constantly making shawls for people in need.   She was also a world class meatball chef. Noemi will forever be remembered by her family and friends for her truly endless and unconditional love, generosity and her multitude of stories and memories that brought the family history to life.

Visitation will be Friday, November 17th, 3-7pm at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan and her Funeral Mass will be Saturday, November 18th, 10am at St. Catharines Church in Blauvelt, NY.
