Demarest, NJ - Closter Location
Paul J. Calabrese, 81, of Demarest passed peacefully at home on February 15, 2022. Husband of 60 years to Sheila McCann Calabrese. Father of Cathee (Jim) Murray, Christopher Calabrese and Aimee Forrest, and 6 grandchildren, Erin & Meghan Murray, Ryan, Erika & Jaimee Calabrese and Samantha Forrest.
Paul loved his family. He also loved his NY Mets, Giants, monthly card nights, golf with his buddies and lunch with his ROMEOs. (Retired Old Men Eating Out.) He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Queen of Peace Council #3679.
Paul began a long career in the hospitality industry, starting at The Pierre Hotel in NYC, and eventually worked in management for the Howard Johnson's company. His great love of food, grilling and entertaining is something for which he will be fondly remembered. Paul's family and friends have many wonderful memories of fun gatherings hosted by him and his wife Sheila.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday, February 23rd, 4-8pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Closter. Funeral Mass Thursday, February 24th, 11am, St. Joseph's Church, Demarest. In lieu of flowers, donations to Tunnel to Towers (https://t2t.org).
