Peter Valentine Walpole II

Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Peter passed away quietly at Tappan Zee Manor on December 7th, where he has resided since 2016. Predeceased by his wife of almost 50 years, Maureen in 2016, Peter is survived by his son Peter, his wife Denyse and their two children, Quinn and Chloe and his daughter Jeanne-Marie Browne, her husband George and their son Colin, both of New Jersey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan, NY, on Sunday, Dec.11th, 2-6pm and a service will be held on Monday, Dec.12th, 10:30am at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. In lieu of flowers, Peter's family asks that donations be made to The Alzheimer's Association ( https://www.alz.org ).

Born in the Bronx to Grace and Peter Valentine Walpole with sisters Patricia Brezosky and Kathleen Brendell. Peter followed in his father's footsteps and became a police officer for the NYPD. He found his true passion when he  transferred  to the FDNY where he  spent almost 30 years in the Bronx. He was in the National Guard, was a Coast Guard reservist and also retired from Chrysler. Peter and Maureen made their home in Blauvelt in 1970. They remained in Rockland County until retirement when they then divided their time between Rockland and Jupiter-Hobe Sound, FL. Peter was an avid golfer, skier, radio listener who could name that tune in just a few notes and give you the correct date it came out while singing every word. He collected timepieces and was sure he would win the lottery one day. He had a quick wit and had a talent for finding  a pun in any conversation.  Peter mostly enjoyed being with his love of his life Maureen, his family, his firefighter brothers and a wonderful close knit group of friends that we call family.
