IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert J.
Squeo
January 5, 2026
Robert "Bob" J. Squeo, 68, of Blauvelt, NY, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026 surrounded by his family. Bob was a larger-than-life presence whose strength and skill left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, Linda, his wife of 41 years; his parents, Frank and Marie Squeo; his brother, Frank Squeo; his children, Chris (Alessandra) and Danielle (Matthew Willson); and his grandchildren, Zoe, Mason, Annie, and Cole. He was predeceased by his son, Robbie.
Bob spent much of his life outdoors across New York State, whether on the water or in the woods. In the Spring he would fish for striped bass in the Hudson River. Come Summer he loved to relax on his boat with Linda in Kingston and enjoy the beauty of Lake George with his family. When hunting season started, Bob would spend his weekends in Schoharie County, always with one of his German Shorthaired Pointers by his side, on the property where he and his father built an A-frame house years prior.
Bob was a force of nature and tough as nails, yet a gentle giant at heart. His legacy lives on through his work ethic as shown by his 43 years at Lectra, his mechanical brilliance and ability to fix anything, and his devotion to his family. Above all, he will be remembered as a loyal friend, a man of integrity, and someone who showed up every time.
A private service will be held to honor Bob's life. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to Riverkeeper ( www.riverkeeper.org ), an organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the Hudson River—something that meant so much to Bob throughout his life.
